Camp Grievance Policy

To make camp run as smoothly as possible, the following procedures are given.  If anyone is dissatisfied with the work of a member of the staff, they are to follow these procedures so that the matter will be handled fairly, speedily, and efficiently.

1. If anyone is dissatisfied with the work of a member of the camp staff, he/she/they are requested to contact the Camp Manager to discuss the problem, clarify the issues and, if possible, resolve the points of contention.

2. If a satisfactory agreement is not reached, and, if the person(s) making the complaint wishes to pursue the issue, a written and signed statement containing the specific charges, reason, and rationale must be submitted to the Chairman of the Camp Board who then supplies the staff member involved with a copy of the signed statement.

3. The staff member will respond to the Chairman of the Camp Board and Camp Manager concerning the issue with a written statement containing the reason or rationale for the action in question.

4. The Chairman of the Board and the Camp Manager will set up a meeting of the Executive Board to resolve the problem.  The person(s) issuing the complaint and the staff member involved may be called upon for additional information and explanation.

5. After due deliberation, the Executive Board will make their decision.  This decision and the reasons for it will be written and supplied to both parties.

6. If the decision is not acceptable to either party, it may be appealed to the Camp Board of Directors who will consider the problem and make a final decision.  Either or both parties may be called upon for additional information and explanation.
