Junior Camp 2024 Is Only A Few Days Away!

We’re glad you’ve chosen to bring your son/daughter to Junior Week at Sylvan Hills. We assure you that, with God’s help, we will provide an atmosphere of safety, love and acceptance for your camper. The staff has been preparing and praying for a wonderful week of camp.

Our theme this year is “The Great Jungle Journey: An Adventure From Genesis to Revelation”. We will explore scripture and discover God’s glorious plan for his Son Jesus Christ. We will talk about 7 major points found throughout scripture; CreationCorruption (the fall), Catastrophe (the flood)Confusion (tower of Babel)ChristCrossConsummation (the fulfillment of all things). Your camper will learn what it meant for Christ to come and die on the cross for their sins. I am very passionate about including memorization as an integral part of Junior Week and so our hope is that every single one of our campers goes home having memorized multiple passages of scripture, hiding God’s word in their heart in order to live their lives according to his glorious will! (John 3:14-21)

Our Mission Speaker is Kristy Steppe. She is a board member of Lydia’s Mission, a ministry working to provide jobs for women, feeds children, and cares for the elderly, creating an open door to present the gospel and allow the Lord to transform hearts. She has requested that students bring along a dime for the sake of making an illustration. If you would like to give to the mission, you may do so at Registration.

We have found that visitation can sometimes cause anxiety – campers who tend to get homesick may have a difficult time finishing the week once they see Mom, Dad, or a family member. Therefore, we encourage you to refrain from visiting your camper. Be assured that we will call you if there is an issue of homesickness with your camper. We also ask that you do not plan to take your camper out of camp early as they will miss the spiritual climax of the week. However, if circumstances necessitate leaving early, please be sure to notify one of the Deans at Registration. Camp will dismiss Friday evening after the closing program which begins at 6:30 PM. Please join us.

We can’t wait to get started! It will be an exciting week as we learn about God’s great plan for his creation. Please continue to be in prayer for all our campers and staff as we seek the Lord.
