We all have treasures we call out own, mine are these hills I call my home.
Just let me live to eternity, in these hills God walks with me.
For generations, thousands of souls have walked the hills and walked with God at Sylvan Hills Christian Service Camp. For nearly seventy years, Sylvan Hills has changed the lives of so many by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching and showing what it means to live the Christian life, and by forging lifelong bonds of friendships.
2016 was another wonderful year, perhaps one of the best. Two hundred and eighty-two campers attended, with nineteen young people committing their lives to Christ Jesus and many more making decisions to rededicate their lives. Over one hundred staff and volunteers graciously gave their time to serve the Lord, three different college groups were present, and seven weeks of camp total including Handi-camp and Little Girls and Guys. Friendships were created and renewed, many games were played, Bible pages turned, heads bowed in prayer, and voices lifted in songs of praise to Almighty God. In addition, the camp hosted the annual Men’s Night Out and the West Branch Area Women’s retreat, as well as many other groups who rent the facilities.
All this would not be possible without your generous support. Your support of prayer; volunteering your skills, effort and time; as well as monetary donations that are gratefully received keep Sylvan Hills going. It is through your support and prayerful stewardship of resources that Sylvan Hills continues to be a valuable Christian camp experience.
As we reflect on the past that God has blessed Sylvan Hills with, we eagerly anticipate the future to see what God has planned for Sylvan Hills. As we visualize the future, we must consider what actions will best prepare the camp to train and equip the next generation of leaders in God’s Kingdom. We invite you to join us in 2017 as we celebrate the legacy of the past seventy years of service for Sylvan Hills Christian Service Camp. Pray with us as we envision the future.
Registration fees for regular camp weeks only cover a portion of the annual expenses. The rest is provided by Church support and your donations. Would you prayerfully consider making a special year-end gift to Sylvan Hills?
